Washington, D.C. – Donald Trump’s historic return to the White House marks one of the most remarkable political comebacks in U.S. history. However, his parallel endeavor in the luxury watch industry has yet to achieve comparable success.
The Trump-branded $100,000 wristwatches, launched in September, have garnered significant attention but struggled to sell. According to David Gouten, a watch industry veteran overseeing the venture, only around 10% of the 147 gold and diamond-encrusted "Trump Tourbillon" watches have been sold through the gettrumpwatches.com website.
"We are working on a new website and things like that to help promote and push it more," Gouten stated in an interview in Switzerland, hinting at efforts to boost the brand's visibility and sales.
The watches, crafted by Swiss watchmaker Montrichard, faced criticism over their hefty price tag and concerns about potential buyers seeking political influence. Despite the slow start, the brand remains hopeful for future growth.
Trump's dual roles—political leader and high-end watch ambassador—continue to draw international scrutiny, blending luxury branding with the complexities of public office.
